Great Outdoors


Hiking and Nordic Walking

There are several well-marked paths around Levi and surroundings. Rest areas and campfire places can be found along the routes.

Ice Age Trail starts from the courtyard of Levi Summit and Hotel Levi Panorama and travels a 9km route around the Levi fell. To get on the trail, take Levi Express Gondola from Zero Point or hike up the stairs which start from the right hand side of the slope (behind the Levi Hotel Spa). The trail features nature trail signs about the Ice Age.

Peak Trail is a 800-meter long scenic route which begins from the end station of the Gondola2000. The peak trail is accessible with a bike, pram or a wheelchair and there are several rest places along the trail.

Kätkätunturi Fell is located next to Levi fell on the opposite side of the Lake Immeljärvi. The trail to the top of Kätkätunturi starts from the vicinity of Levi village. Pahtakuru Gulch is a great display of natural powers in the vicinity of Levi village. Pahtakuru gulch is off the marked trail and if you wish to visit it, we recommend you to take a map with you or book a guided tour with for example with Lapin Luontoelämys.

For a more demanding hiker Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park offers longer trails.

Rafting, canoeing and boat trips

For those with a sense of adventure white water rafting with a rubber boat or a car tyre is a must. Canoeing excursions on River Ounasjoki are suitable for families. If you want to experience the peace and quiet of Lapland’s bring nights, you should participate a midnight canoeing trip. For example Lapin Luontoelämys organizes guided rafting and canoeing programmes  and from the summer weekly programme you can find easygoing boat trips to Lake Aakenusjärvi.


Green village bikes give an opportunity to explore the Levi village and surroundings. Pack a snack and ride around Levi Fell, the route is about 18km long. Village bikes are free of charge and Hotel Levi Panorama is one of the official renting places.

For mountain bikers there are several routes which range from short runs to longer trails. Longest trails take you around the Kätkätunturi Fell and from Levi to Fells Aakenus and Ylläs. Levi Bike Park is for downhill biking enthusiasts. Mountain bikes and fatbikes can be rented from Zero Point rental. Popular fat-bikes can also be found from the summer weekly programme.

Disc Golf

A 9-hole Disc Golf Course can be found from Levi Activity Park. The course is well suited also for families and beginners. 5 holes are located in a sloped forest and offer a little bit of challenge for more experienced players as well. Playing on the course is free of charge and discs can be rented of purchased from the Activity Park summer rental.


The 18-hole golf course of the Levi Golf & Country Club is situated in the beautiful natural terrain between Levi Fell and the Ounasjoki River. Golf season in Lapland is rather short, but in the Arctic you can take full advantage from the 24h daylight and tee off in the middle of the night. From the clubhouse you can find Pro Shop, caddiemaster, dressing and shower facilities, Restaurant Draivi and Member’s Club. The clubhouse offers a year round practice area with a golf simulator equipped with versatile game and practice possibilities. When you stay in Hotel Levi Panorama, you can book an accommodation package with green fee inclusive.

Floating sauna boat

Hop on a boat and enjoy an evening on a floating sauna. This unique sauna experience takes place on Lake Immeljärvi close to the centre of the village. The captain of the boat will take you to the best swimming and fishing places. There is room for up to 15 people. The floating sauna is available from June through September.

There are several rivers, streams and lakes in Levi and surroundings and all of them are suitable for fishing. For beginning fishermen and –women guided fishing programme is a good choice.

Horseback Riding

Hop on the saddle and get close to the nature. Horseback riding excursions on Icelandig horses and domestic Finnhorses as well are offered by Polar Lighs Tours and Lapin Saaga.

Art and Culture


Samiland is a part of the worldwide UNESCO Observatory Cultural Village program. Exhibition is located in the Levi Summit Congress Centre in the Levi ski resort in Kittilä, Lapland. Samiland includes an indoor exhibition (500m²) and an outdoor exhibition (10,000m²), which present the history and present day of the European Union’s only indigenous people, the Sami. Tickets can be purchased from the Hotel Levi Panorama Reception. You’re also entitled to entrance with a Museum Card.

Särestöniemi Museum and Art Gallery

The home of one of the most renown Finnish artists Reidar Särestöniemi is located in Kaukonen, about a 30 min. drive away from Levi village. The Särestöniemi Museum displays the art and working environment of Reidar Särestöniemi (1925-1981). The museum hosts a collection of nearly 500 works of art by Särestöniemi. Museum is open Tue-Satu 12-18 and closed on Finnish national holidays.

Colours of Lapland Photographic Exhibition

The indoor passage between the Hotel Levi Panorama and Levi Summit hosts a photograph exhibition about the seasons, moods and nature of Lapland. More than 100 unique photos are on display. If you would like to have your favorite hung on the wall of your home or office, or give one away as a present, it’s possible to order a poster or a canvas print of any of the photos.

Galleria Raekallio

The local artict Reijo Raekallio is known for his expressive aquarelle reindeer which are sure to make you smile! His gallery is located in Pöntsö, 18km from the Levi village. Gallery is open daily 10.00-20.00.

Thrills and Frills

ATV safaris

ATV's are a fun-filled way of getting to know the Levi terrain. Several activity organisers offer quadbike safaris and it can also be found from the summer weekly programme.

Downhill biking

Levi is a top pick for your holiday if you are into downhill biking. Levi boasts with excellent routes even for the more demanding enthusiast. Levi Bike Park offers freeride trails and challenging downhill trails, and have maximum vertical drop of 310 meters.

For those with a great sense of adventure we recommend river rafting. Lapin Luontoelämys organizes guided canoeing programs. Their specialty is rafting with a car tire – definitely one of those once-in-a-lifetime must-dos!

Fun for Families

Activity Park

Levi Activity park is located on the Western side of Levi fell, at the end station of Gondoli2000 gondola lift. Levi Activity park hosts a Traffic park and a playground for children, an Adventure park with several tracks suitable for kids and adults alike, a bouldering wall, a mini golf course and disc golf courses. Traffic park and playground are free of charge.

Summer Sled Track

Summer sled track starts from the end station of Levi Express Gondola. Summer sledding is a fun way of getting down the slope. Sled track is open in summer and autumn, weather permitting. When it rains, sled track is closed. Tickets for Levi Express Gondola and summer sled track can be purchased from Zero Point or from Hotel Levi Panorama reception.


Minigolf courses can be found from Levi Acitivy Park and Tonttula in Köngäs village.

Children’s playhouse Ailu Family Fun, Spa  and Bowling

The play area at the Levi Hotel Spa covers about 300 square meters and boasts a bouncy castle, ball pond, climbing apparatus, pedal cars, toys etc. Kids’ play area is located in the same complex with the spa water world, a bowling area, an amusement arcade and a sports bar.

Meet furry friends

Horseback riding is offered by a couple of activity organizers. Even the lovely sleigh dogs can be met in summer, our weekly summer programme organizes a guided trip to sleigh dog farm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Relax and Wellness


Hotel Levi Panorama saunas

The scenery saunas in the 7th floor of the hotel are open for guests daily from the late afternoon until 21.00 and can also be booked for private use outside the evening sauna hours. For hotel guests saunas are free of charge. For outsiders the sauna fee is 7 €/person and it includes towels. More information from the reception +358 16 336 3000.

Immelkartano sauna experiences

Immelkartano in Immeljärvi arranges sauna safaris on a floating sauna boat. Imagine sauna bathing on float, dipping in the crystal clear, refreshing lake and cooling off on the deck under the midnight sun. The captain of the boat will take you to the best swimming and fishing places, and if you’re lucky, you might have a chance to grill your own trout on the boat.

Levi Spa Water World

The Spa consist17 indoor and outdoor pools, several different saunas and a thrilling water slide. Lights, sounds and other phenomena create an atmosphere and turn the spa into an experience for kids and adults alike. Spa is open daily 10-22.
